Dwight Poole was born July, 1, 1990. He was an energetic person who had a passion for music, front yard gardens, animals, and other people. Dwight truly was the kid who would do anything for you! Other passions – of course Broncos, Nuggets, CU Buffs, and nothing topped his love of the Colorado Avalanche!
Dwight was a tireless creator of music, digital, and graphic arts. He spent countless hours honing his craft and, in between, never turned down the opportunity to help someone else do the same.
He attended Columbia in Chicago then Purdue Northwest then decided to devote himself full time to music. Whether he worked busing tables at the Town Club, doing whatever goofy project he got at Sunrise, changing the sign at Ultra (because he could spell), or making art at Starbucks, he worked hard.
His travels as a musician/dj saw him perform at Spring Awakening Music Fest, North Coast Music Fest, Concord Hall, even a trip to Canada. Most of his “gigs” were at local clubs. As one well known musician told me, his mixes were raw and gutteral, filled with emotion. He was great at what he did.
His early DJ days, he used the name DJ DeWalt, after a few years he became Ignorant Noise (story he always told was someone said to him “how can you play that ignorant noise”), in October – because he loved Halloween – Fright Noise, and Dwight Noise. He also played bass with the bands Taste for Two and Facing the End, pretty sure there were others but only he knows that. He frequented his alma mater, Griffith High School, as a member of the pit band for concerts and musicals, or to DJ one of their events.
Dwight died by suicide on a cold, rainy November night in 2019. While he is no longer with us physically, we keep his memory, his music, his legacy alive.
